What does it mean to be on the Board of Director’s?
Guelph-Wellington Women in Networking
established in 1981!
A closeknit group of women in the community, over the years we have taken many paths and incarnations. Always central, promoting women in business, professionalism and entrepreneurship. Offering education, friendship, and opportunity to grow ones skills.
Since December 2019, GWIN registered as a not for profit corporation. Forging ahead to ensure its sustainability we are working hard behind the scenes to simplify operations. Making running the organization smoother, efficient, and more predictable. Providing a better member experience beginning to end.
Why is this important to you? We are run solely by volunteer members and Board of Directors. As busy entrepreneurs, professionals and businesses we need to use our time efficiently and effortlessly. We have been busy behind the scenes setting up the structures to take GWIN to the next level. Tools that benefit our members, and Directors alike. To make volunteering for the Board easier.
The line to becoming a Director open. It takes a little time to understand the commitment, job, and tasks undertaken by each Director. We work hard to get Members the knowledge they need to make the decision and commitment. By the time a member decides to become a board Director, there is a relationship with current Directors.
We are asking current members to reach out. Board of Director seats come available, and we appreciate your participation. Open seat announcements are in February, and confirmed in the May Annual General Meeting. Also, this year is our first Official Annual General Meeting. And your opportunity to be part of what will be an incredible time for the organization.
